Yahoo has admitted that the latest high profile security lapse has compromised the personal details of its four remaining users. Hackers apparently disguised malicious links as a vaguely usable email-interface upgrade in order to lure in their victims according to security firm, Sophos.
“This is devastating,” said internet veteran NeTscapeUs3r_123. “I started using the yahoos when my son dropped out of university and said that we needed to get an on-line in order for him to find a job. The yahoos were brilliant, letting him use the interwebs late into the night. Sometimes he’d forget to wear any pyjamas he was so tired. When he moved out, I had to re-mortgage the shed to pay the phone bill, but then I started using the yahoos to freemail my cousin in Australia and look at model planes.
“I can’t believe they’ve got all my data!” he continued. “The two unfinished stories alone took me countless hours. Then there’s the corrupted photos from our holiday in Malta that a chap said he could sort out for £50, Sarah’s bowling spreadsheet, and not to mention the legal documents from the cousin Sheila debacle, though on the plus side I’m pretty sure I deleted all those pictures of my knackers.”
